I imagine movies like this are made to teach straight people how to be nice to gay people (though straight people will most likely never see them) or as gay straight-boy fantasies. Either way, this movie is cute but also exhausting and dated.
Surprisingly funny and evenhanded in a way that is almost never seen in this sort of gay themed indie comedy. The warmth of its character dynamics and the work of a superbly relaxed cast only had value to it. Unfortunately, it’s got zero aesthetical value or ambition as one would expect from a project of this ilk. The disastrous dates are simply hilarious and feature the film’s best comedic beats.
