What we want showbizz to be in our imaginations. Totally magnificent. An extraordinary Jean Gabin. And, I'll tell you, moved me to tears at the end.

  5. vanderlukas's rating of the film French Cancan

Increíble. Posee una vibra grata y amena que se mantiene de principio a fin en esta comedia sobre un empresario que se debate entre el romance y el establecimiento de un nuevo espectáculo.

  7. LauraPalmer's rating of the film French Cancan

  8. darth_david@msn.com's rating of the film French Cancan

MAG-NI-FI-QUE. Now that is a movie! This is Renoir at its best.

  9. Pierre.F's rating of the film French Cancan

  10. Alexis Feix's rating of the film French Cancan

Puisque l'art est en l'homme partout, alors l'amour est dans l'art et ce, dans ce qu'il y a de plus sensuel !

  16. James Mackin's rating of the film French Cancan

I dig that a big part of the film is shitty people telling a nice person to live with the fact that she is surrounded by shitty people, and they all do shitty things, and she's gonna have to live with those shitty things to cut in in show business.

  17. Luis Pires's rating of the film French Cancan

    The dresses!, the colours!

  18. 'king Harold's rating of the film French Cancan

Disappointed-Jean Gabin is a bit old to be seducing all these girls, he's like some dirty old grandpa and it seemed to take forever to get to the actual can can. The 'Gallic charm' was a bit forced and self conscious. Some great crowd scenes; a fantastic fight and the audition.Beautiful costumes.

  19. taniaburrito's rating of the film French Cancan

  20. Ark V's rating of the film French Cancan

Spirited film about the need to entertain and be entertained. With plenty of wild relationship decisions going on, you could only be in Paris.

  21. raggiodisole's rating of the film French Cancan

Wonderful, painterly palate, romance in spades, and a dazzling finale. Stick a beret on it and it could not be more French.

  22. tintinmugshot's rating of the film French Cancan

One of the best movies about showbiz, period.

  23. bcdcdude's rating of the film French Cancan

Francoise Arnoul must be one of the most beautiful women ever committed to celluloid. The last 20 minutes is worth 4 stars alone.

  24. Superfrog's rating of the film French Cancan

Stunning picture, rhythm, and characters. Less would be too little.
