Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

Une oeuvre sympathique et bienvenue, un peu oubliée, qui sait harmonieusement alterner et jouer avec les séquences drôles et dramatiques... www.cinefiches.com

  2. SpacePirate's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

Not understanding the reviews kinda slamming this film. I thought it was fun, and rather charming, and considering its subject matter walked the fine line of not being preachy. Wyler is probably my fav filmmaker and this is just another example of his breadth of material he could handle with ease. A real master. I wouldnt even consider it in his top 5 films he made and its still stellar. A mark of a legend. 4.5 stars

  3. Aardsy's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

2 solid hours of saying "Quaker" and "thee" over and over.

  4. Andrew Miller's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

An extra star for personal associations. The key scene for me is the son wrestling in town-- he can't help but hold is opponent in the light.

  5. RoRoRoro's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

  6. Tendoza's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

There is a sort of broad, weird charm about it, but that same broadness, unevenness, and sheltered point of view end up sinking it.

  7. Victor-André's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

2.5 The average only for the strange and funny face of Joshua and the innocent Mattie !

  8. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

Palme d'Or in Cannes and six Academy awards nominations. Yes. Well, yes. Anyway what is certain is that Friendly Persuasion didn't successfully pass the test of time. Anthony Perkins is really but really bad here and the film looks like a Walt Disney movie gone wrong. Preachy and with animals. Already forgotten.

  9. Rock and Bull's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

Anthony had some mommy issues in this movie too.

  10. Berjuan's rating of the film Friendly Persuasion

The strange thing is that even though this film is about serious moral choices it still managest to be very very funny. Doesn anyone remember the duck gag and the carriage race gags LOL
