Our take

The eccentric peak of the Gamera Showa era, this fifth franchise entry takes the kids’ adventure larks of the earlier films to delightfully gonzo extremes. Child-drugging cannibal space-babes, mass dismemberment, kaiju acrobatics and a hero in a half-shell—what more could a growing cinephile need?
