A fine slice of korean gangster drama with good performances and solid direction. Director Yu Ha, who did the stellar A Dirty Carnival in -06, stages the action with real flair but is let down by a script riddled with clichés. A story like this has been done many times before and a lot better unfortunately. Still if you can overcome the derivative narrative there is a good time to be had.
Solid South Korean gangster picture that follows two young men in 70's Seoul from street kids to gangsters to opportunists set against the Gangnam land grab from both politician and gang. Performances and fight choreography rep strong work for the genre in this latest from Yu Ha (A Dirty Carnival).
