Ratings & Reviews

  1. Cinema Omnivore's rating of the film Georgy Girl

    7.2/10, my review: http://wp.me/p1eXom-2uo

  2. Log Lady's rating of the film Georgy Girl

Romantic comedies of the 1960s might be problematic because of their gender politics, but Georgy Girl has a lot more going for it than Doris Day films for example. Georgy is down-to-earth and naive, and in the process of acquainting herself with men she finds out what love truly means to her. The quirkiness becomes annoying after a while, but still an interesting un-romantic take on the genre.

  3. Polyglot's rating of the film Georgy Girl

A smashing bird that Georgy girl is. 'Allo 'Allo.

  4. peglessness's rating of the film Georgy Girl

James Mason may not have the best northern accent ... but Lynn Redgrave is just amazing.

  5. Bill Rosenfield's rating of the film Georgy Girl

I just watched this after not seeing since it first came out. It's much harsher and darker than I remember. Terrific performances from all involved. Most definetely of it's time , but as such it's pretty terrific.
