An awkward young Irish farm girl Kate Brady moves to Dublin and shares a room with funny, outgoing Baba Brennan, where she soon meets Eugene Gaillard, a middle-aged writer, who is immediately attracted to the shy and innocent Kate, ignoring the more sophisticated Baba.

Everyone always talks about the Angry Young Men when it comes to early 60s Brit cinema, but Girl With Green Eyes is among the best. Rita Tushingham, Peter Finch, and Lynn Redgrave, all criminally underrated, are a real treat here. Shame Rita Tushingham didn't have a better career than she did.
