Goff in der Wüste

Heinz Emigholz Germany, 2003

Michael's rating of the film Goff in the Desert

The movie has a strange organizing principle: almost like a slide show, but filmed with a movie camera. The buildings are shown in chronological order, with the camera fixed on a part of each for several seconds. Three or four images are shown of each building. And it just proceeds like that. Even stranger, most of the images are tilted. It all makes you feel claustrophobic. Not a feeling I want in architecture.
