This is an amazing, underrated, sexy film, full of absurdity, but also very funny. It's full of a LOT of passionate melodrama (maybe excessively, though I happen to love that), which you might expect, but for all the ridiculousness, there's a lot of pathos to Golden Balls too. Javier Bardem is also brilliant. One of the best spanish films of the 90s.
Javier Bardem's caricature of a man is so full of himself that at the end you should be pitiful of him but is impossible because you end up hating the guy so much. Great testament of the early (great) work of Javier Bardem but not so much of Bigas Luna.
