  3. Mathias Palmberg's rating of the film Gorky Park

Pretty good thriller that reads more noir than cold war spy story to me. Hurt is excellent in the lead role but Marvin is a bit miscast in my opinion. Locales and production design captures the drab and dreary existence behind the iron curtain well. Well worth your time.

  4. S Campbell's rating of the film Gorky Park

Neat thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep you interest up. Its a shame they nener did more of the Cruz Smith novels in this series . Thanks to a tight script by Dennis Potter and a cracking performance from Hurt you never lose interest ,a little thriller gem

  5. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film Gorky Park

Pretty standard Cold War thriller fare. Solidly made with strong performances (despite the annoying fact that all the Russian characters speak with British accents), it does manage to generate some moderate suspense by the end. But ultimately it's just routine and forgettable. James Horner's incredibly dated score doesn't help.
