Our take

It’s a shame that Walerian Borowczyk didn’t deliver on the promise of 13 volumes of his Grandma’s Encyclopedia, as the three vignettes presented here—covering the letters A through C—are an endearing slice of steampunk Victoriana. The influence on Terry Gilliam’s Monty Python work is palpable.
