  1. Jérémy Poirier's rating of the film Gulistan, Land of Roses

An eye-opening look into the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). There are some beautiful moments of joy and companionship between the female soldiers but most of the time you can feel the constant mortal danger they all face on a daily basis. It is a documentary that feels more like a narrative film. This is a tale of sacrifice, humanity, love and death. "Death is afraid of me. Therefore why should I fear death?"

  2. VincentVendetta's rating of the film Gulistan, Land of Roses

There's a really interesting movie here, like... five meters away from the camera! But I guess the National Film Board doesn't really want to dive into revolutionary ideology.
