While it reaches a horrible state, it manages to be somewhat entertaining up until its half - after that, its a crashing ride, totally loosing sense of what it wanted to be. However, I must say that I found Laurie's fate to be somehow poetic (even if poorly executed). The movie ultimately tries to be be a commentary about glamorizing murderes but it really falls flat.
Series worst offer. If the previous entry (H20) offered some hope this atrocity quickly pisses on the entire franchise's legacy in it's opening 20 minutes. From there it devolves into a 'Blair Witch' found footage clone that really could have had any old killer cast. Just terrible entry that put the final nail in the original series. A question: Wouldn't the city have torn down that house by now?...just asking.
Proof that 2002 was lame and unfunny. Amazing to see how far this franchise goes to destroy itself. For a Part 8 in a leading slasher series, this sure was sloppy. It's about as useless as Curse, H20 and the remake. More so maybe. Dated faster in 11 years than something does in 50. Stale biscuits.
