It starts with the fact that heroine from the fourth and fifth movie was kidnapped before puberty and has been repeatedly raped since 11 by her undead killer uncle and has made that poor (now young woman) pregnant. She manages to escape this sick living hell and gets killed slowly. Now that is the most depressing, sad disgusting end for a beloved character I can ever think of. I couldn't care about the film after.
Theatrical or Producer's Cut... either way, the viewer loses. :( Can you call yourself a Halloween fan if you hate 5 of the 10 films in the series???
A strange cult attempting to control Myers; a Druid astrological symbol bringing Myers back to Haddonfield to kill again; a new child hearing voices urging him to kill; brutal murders; the screen debut of Paul Rudd...I'm not sure what is the scariest. Another slice of the Halloween nonsense which only gets further and further from what made the original a horror classic. Just another screen boogeyman at this point.
some fucking horrific editing and poor acting but made watchable with some v good deaths (exploding head) and a genuinely tense last 15 mins
Everything's wrong in this movie. Bad actors, unlikable characters, gigantic plot holes, over the top scenes and the whole 'X-Files' subplot to explain Michael's motivations was laughable. And why would anyone reinvent the iconic soundtrack to that metal crap? Apparently there's a Producer's Cut out there that's supposed to be better. That I can believe.
