Ratings & Reviews

  1. Joao Domingues's rating of the film Happy Birthday!

Baaaaaahhhh. Over the top acting and a bland narrative that not even the social taboo crutch could help sustain. [the way I see it] If you're going to pull off a sort of social realism you either make it aesthetically pristine (a la Eggleston) or give me 20min of naturally captivating dialogue. Less cat, more 'talking while shitting' kind of thing

  4. msmichel's rating of the film Happy Birthday!

Early short from Rodrigues that whispers the promise of the work to come. A young man wakes to his gf's birthday message on his answering machine only to find the young man he brought home to bed the night before. What is refreshing about the short is that it makes no bones about it being a straight or gay encounter and just hints that there may be more than a one chance encounter unfolding.

  5. Daniel Roque's rating of the film Happy Birthday!

A hiperatividade e infatilidade do João é tão irritante.

  6. Ricardo Branco's rating of the film Happy Birthday!

I understand it is an early shot: I guess I'm kinda disappointed it is a João Pedro Rodrigues one.
