Our take

Anyone familiar with the films of Michael Haneke will know to take the title of this biting tale of familial dysfunction with a hefty pinch of salt. Threaded with a darkly satirical vein, Happy End sees Haneke take incisive aim at the toxic effluence of bourgeois arrogance and 21st-century malaise.
