TIFF '11 Major misfire from McDonald. Doubly disappointing after the mature relective 'trigger' last year and the fact that this is a followup to what might be the greatest rock and roll movie ever. Completely loses its integretiy early on getting lost in a navel gazing exercise of the director shooting himself shooting a film. A mess in so many ways. Cast wasted save Julian Richings still good here as Bucky.
Quite simply, this is an inexplicable movie. A nearly incomprehensible muddle of director Bruce McDonald shooting himself shooting a farcical documentary about a horrible band. It's highly possible that the "criticism of sequels" sentiments were concocted to save an otherwise horrendous viewing experience. Perhaps it was McDonald himself that was possessed - by an absolutely awful idea for a movie (again).
