Ratings & Reviews

  1. HKFanatic's rating of the film Hard Rain

As someone who spent the late Nineties obsessively watching entertainment shows for trailers of upcoming films, the marketing campaign for "Hard Rain" was inescapable in '98. I have to imagine Paramount ate their shirt when it bombed, but the movie is not without its meager pleasures: the script from "Speed" scribe Graham Yost is almost exclusively a string of setpieces, and the credits roll to a Jars of Clay song.

  2. Diderot's rating of the film Hard Rain

I fell for it. It's hard enough for me to resist a movie about a flood in the town that invented waterproof guns, but then they go and top it off with cross-over Christian rock over the credit sequence. It's as good a document as any of late-90s nonsense.
