John Scanlan's rating of the film Harry Smith at the Breslin Hotel

A very short but - in its own way - fascinating glimpse into how one strange and original character, Harry Smith, compiler of the acclaimed ‘Anthology of American Folk Music’ (amongst much else) lived in the last decade before he died. An artist - or as he describes himself here, ‘philosopher’, who remained very much on the outside. You might need to know something about Smith to appreciate it.
