  3. memorysigh's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

"Professor Coreman: We should concern ourselves, not so much with the pursuit of happiness, but with the happiness of pursuit [class laughs and applauds]"

  4. SafeStanding's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

This is a movie that is open to personal interpretation and so you can take from it, what you wish. Pegg, as with all his output never puts a foot wrong. This is both witty and feel good but ever so slightly too mushy to be healthy!

  5. Adrien Le Gall's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

As deep as a Facebook cover picture of a sunset with a shitty quote about life on it

  6. Aaron Dillenbeck's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

What Walter Mitty should have been. Emotional, uplifting, and quite an adventure. Everything was done very well! Must see.

  7. James Roth's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

  8. Kyra W's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

3.5. A bit like the masculine version of Eat, Pray, Love if I had seen Eat, Pray, Love. Incredibly thought-provaking. Does Hector deserve the brand of happiness he ended up with? Can I please watch a movie just about the blonde friend and his boyfriend? How do I still find Simon Pegg attractive after he contorts his face into the ugliest crying I've ever seen? Who has the answers? No one? Super pretty movie, though.

Self-help platitudes disguised as clueless exotic tourism. http://theflickeringwall.blogspot.pt/2015/03/hector-and-search-for-happiness.html

  21. Giles J Davis's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

The pursuit of happiness in this 2 hours is a selfish dream cloaked in a middle-class sabbatical. Hector travels to the white man's follies of China, Africa & LA and experiences what many white, middle-class 20 and 30 somethings often do, live it up, missionary work followed by a final step into western civilisation. The real people striving for happiness are those with the problems he treats back in the UK. Guff.

  22. Yayo's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

A lot to learn from this movie. Fear, sadness, joy. Happiness.

  23. Arabella Devine's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

    Hopelessly riddled with clichés.

  24. msmichel's rating of the film Hector and the Search for Happiness

I had pre-judged this one by its schmaltzy trailer thinking the film would be the kind of feel good new age pap (Eat,Pray,Love) that mainstream audiences seem to enjoy. Mind you I wasn't far off but somehow the film works despite its trappings and clichés. Pegg is at his best here even when put in the most unbelievable circumstances and opposite the worst of character composites. A workout for your empathy machine.
