  1. spiderliliez's rating of the film Her Master's Voice

I have to say, I fully enjoyed Nina Conti's little documentary. I have yet to discover her works, and so far I have come to like her. The world of ventriloquists is filled with humor and indirect insanities. Nina's journey to "Venthaven" becomes almost a spiritual discovery to her and her audiences. It's about rediscovering what you think you're about to lose.

  2. J. O.'s rating of the film Her Master's Voice

Ventriloquists are often caught in a permanent "on" mode - this over the top and cartoonish behaviour is normally pretty grating (Nina is no exception). The film itself was a neat little story, almost a pilgrimage, but in the end the camera work and edit was too unpolished, and Nina's constant presence was too much. The convention was interesting too, but ultimately this put me right to sleep.

  3. Polyglot's rating of the film Her Master's Voice

Like a female version of Sherman's March with puppets.
