Our take

The follow-up to Eros + Massacre turbocharges its modernist style and radical subject matter, and the results are explosive. Shimmeringly opaque, the film explores the political landscape of ’70s Japan through its revolutionary students and vertiginous camera angles: pure, kaleidoscopic Yoshida!
