After Harem Suare and Turkish Bath this third film by Ozpetek was something of a letdown. Cliched tale of a woman discovering her husband's gay affair after his death is saved somewhat by a warm feeling of discovering a second family. A family is a family regardless of who its made up of and the film is full of warm and universal moments. Enigmatic ending ok but feel she should have shared her news with Massimo.
After ten years, this masterpiece by Ozpetek manages to capture all of my senses. I remember the very day when I redefined the concept of family after seeing this movie with my dad. Life will bring all sorts of problems your way but you will define how you choose to share these problems and who will be there for you. The feeling of belonging that we seek everywhere is pictured excellently in this movie. A must-see
