I definitely preferred this as a kid, but it's still pretty enjoyable watch now, yes the fight scenes are playfully Kiddie friendly, but it's still pretty fun to watch. Soundtrack seems well made too, though it never rang too much when I saw it as a kid. Phil Collins even has a cameo that I never knew of
Spielberg sought to revive the "Peter Pan" tale and its childlike sense of wonderment for a new generation, and, aided by one of John Williams' most rousing scores, he very nearly succeeded. I find the first act of this film to be faultless. It's only the latter half of "Hook" that gives way to the 'extreme! 90's kids' portrayal of the Lost Boys that the movie has been endlessly derided for. Underrated to this day.
