A hoot from start to finish. Bill Katt is a surprisingly enjoyable screen presence and the monster designs are delightful, especially the witch! Not the best horror comedy of all time, but the cornball humor blended with a Vietnam PTSD storyline makes it bizarre, compelling, and highly unique.
I loved this movie as a young kid and it was fun revisiting this cooky and strange horror comedy. The acting is pretty good and Katt makes for a quite likeable protagonist. The effects are pretty hokey but still fun. The script is OK but the changes from horror to comedy to drama are not that competently handled. Uneven but with the right expectations you could have fun with this 80´s flick.
