Ratings & Reviews

  1. Not A Sexy Vampire's rating of the film How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

An incredibly savage satire of corporate America, capitalism and white masculinity, couched in a funny 60s candy coloured musical. Memorable modernist design and performances (especially smug Robert Morse and MTM-esque Michelle Lee), but the lingering feeling is anger and disgust at a broken system that rewards corruption. Smart critique.

  2. Daniel S.'s rating of the film How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

***1/2. Choreography by Bob Fosse. Oh la la, the 1960's and their extremely long movie titles ! I had this title in my library for a very, very long time before having the courage to see it. And, surprise, surprise, it was worth my time. Smart and funny. Highly recommended.

  3. Aardsy's rating of the film How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Goofy fun, but about a day too long.

  4. James Mackin's rating of the film How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

For someone attempting to succeed in business without really trying, boy oh boy does he try.

  5. bryanvmh's rating of the film How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

So many bad moments and overlong songs but a lot of nice colors and outfits

  6. the_mentaculus's rating of the film How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

A truly quintessential musical: meticulously detailed, full of wit and charm, and never dull. It certainly helps that the source won a Pulitzer, a validation that it spoke to the time it was made; the best thing is, its film version continues to do so.
