It feels more like an assignment than a short film, but it scratches an itch, in a way. Some interviews are really random and no subject is really deeply explored, but at least somebody did it. It's about time someone took it from here and deliver us a documentary that Cazale and his fans deserve, not only about the five best picture nominees but the man, inside and outside.
Old friends and random celebrities like Steve Buscemi, Sam Rockwell, Brett Ratner(!) and a film historian take a stroll down memory lane to pay their respect to a superb actor. It's great to see the old timers come together and say a few words about an actor, that according to bypassers in NYC is unknown. The problem is really the puffy talking heads and the shallow analysis of what made him a great actor.
