Triple murders are rare enough in Sweden that they qualify as headline-grabbing national news for prolonged periods of time. This movie is based on the story behind one such incident, which took place in 1988.

Il capitano: A Swedish RequiemDirected byJan Troell
Troell's addition to the doomed young morons genre (GUN CRAZY, THEY LIVE BY NIGHT, SID AND NANCY, BONNIE AND CLYDE, NATURAL BORN KILLERS), in which guy and gal commit petty crimes and eventually kill a few people. Troell doesn't wallow in sex and murder, as is usually the case. We never see the victims dead or alive. The movie's made at the director's usual high level. I just don't like the genre.
Interesting movie about a criminal and his girlfriend from Finland who kills three people in Åmselse in Sweden during the 80's. Based on real events.
I really like that the movie contains both the Finnish and the Swedish language, and also some other languages, instead of the usual everyone-speaks-the-same-language á la Hollywood. There's also a lot of beautifully shot scenes in this movie.
