Oh wow. I actually guessed the killer very early on, but it didn't matter. What starts off as a mediocre giallo with an offscreen bludgeoning killer becomes a story about a man proving to himself and his family that his constant failings can make a turn for the best because of him. He can provide. He can save the city! But the 'monster' sending him letters may be too close for comfort. Actually troubling (AND funny).
