Well this was a bit of a mess to be honest. It all starts out all despressing and serious and gradually turns towards quriky indie comedy. A blend that has proven to be quite successful these last couple of years, but NOT here. When we get to the last fifteen minutes it seems the filmmakers have forgotten where they started and betrays the movie by bringing on a cheezy and predictable feel good ending.
Kristen Wiig brings her deadpan to this consistently downbeat comedy about a sad lady with a hard luck life, which she just makes worse with pretension. It's not going to win at the box office, because Imogene gets kicked around for most of the film, but it's a decent film.
