Ratings & Reviews

  1. Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film Imperative

Another Zanussi hero bashing his brains out against the walls of God and Truth, troubled by the world of abstractions he inhabits, obsessed with free will or lack of, God or lack of; desecrates a church, visits the madhouse, contrives his bloody penance, then, in the film's final scene, denies his ridiculous happy ending - smiling girlfriend returned, all dark clouds dissolved - with a mock round of Russian roulette.
