Perhaps the intent was for the film’s composition of nonlinear storytelling to mirror Lau’s descent into a complete mental breakdown from his actions: jumpy and just a bit confusing.
Even though I like nonlinear storytelling in general, this film definitely overdid it.
This movie is a mess. A completely desperate cashgrab that is redeemed by only one thing: Tony Leung's performance. It's not an actor's performance, but a movie star's--one of pure charisma and a joy to watch.
Disappointing after the terrific sequel, but not the disaster many have claimed it to be.
Convoluted but occasionally engaging end to the trilogy.
Horrible. It's got incoherent written all over it.Plus,it isn't a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.1 out of 5 stars
