Ratings & Reviews

  1. the_mentaculus's rating of the film Inquisition

Surprisingly great. Its complex theological concerns are well-grounded in a lived reality - a reality made tangible, no doubt, because of the shadow of another great Inquisition: Franco's Spain. The violence is salacious because it's not gratuitous, a rarity in the gorehound subgenre.

  2. Nick Schwab's rating of the film Inquisition

This humdrum first directorial effort from Paul Nashy lacks severe punch and feels like it's much longer than it really is. Inquisition plods along without any sustained energy or tension, and the drama is uninspired. It also could've used more action and horror to balance out these many dull scenes, as the slower-than-thou pace makes it crawl by. Inquisition is about torture, and it's torture to watch, as well.
