For those prepared for an improvement on the first entry get ready for disappointment. Incredibly weak sequel gets lost in its faction nonsense, dreams, changing allegiances and weak 'Inception' like special effects that don't grind us in any sense of reality for a second. Woodley is fine but most of the rest of cast seems as ill fitting as that awful blue suit worn by Kate Winslet. Getting sick of YA adaptations.
"Tobias, I--" *guy slams fist on the table* "Don't call me Tobias. My name is Four!" i die. that basically sums up the script of this movie. I haven't read the book and there were a lot of surprises that I actually enjoyed.
Sequel senza pretese.
More ambitious in scope than Divergent but lacking the chemistry and electric pacing of the first installment. Shailene Woodley is shortchanged and Theo James gets way too much screen time for how interesting he is (not very).
actually, in the book, the story is very thin and doesn't much anything in there. and the movie just doing the same!maybe this trilogy can be great with the ensemble cast. but still not strong enough too.
Not sure what to say. I'm aware that "based upon" doesn't mean it needs to be 100% accurate. Part of me thinks it wasn't as bad as similar movies, but the way they changed the story... didn't make me happy.
Why did I subject myself to this. I said I wouldn't after the first film but I guess curiosity won over. This was truly terrible. And I still detest Shailene Woodley. Can Hollywood stop trying to make these mediocre white girls happen?
