  9. Eisha's rating of the film Interview with the Earth

Thoughtful, empathetic to the subject; an honest and poetic narrative blend of fiction and doc. The boys' testimony and understated expressions of loss really crawls under your skin.

  11. msmichel's rating of the film Interview with the Earth

Slight short playing on notions of memory, ritual and storytelling. Purposefully vague much like Pereda's features. An acquired taste i don't yet possess.

A slow, meandering film about how children cope with loss

  15. Judsi McDun's rating of the film Interview with the Earth

I turned it off after a couple of minutes. I couldn't work out what it was about, the scenes were too long, there was no explanation - and then I decided that I don't want to watch a film about superstitious people mistreating a chicken.

  16. Danny Indio's rating of the film Interview with the Earth

Melancholic and ritualistic sum this short up for me. I enjoy how Pereda (or his subjects) toy with the fuzziness of memory. Esp the part where the kids can't remember when was the last time they saw their dad made me think of how much authority we give to "the talking head" on the screen. When the foreground kid first said "5 years," I took it as truth. Turns out it really wasn't. These are my first impressions
