It's Pat: The Movie

Directed by Adam Bernstein
United States, 1994

Having taken androgyny to a hilarious level on “Saturday Night Live,” Pat continues to befuddle in this full-length feature. Pat’s co-workers are still trying to figure out Pat’s gender, and so is Kyle, a puzzled suitor who’s nevertheless smitten.

  • McSmith's rating of the film It's Pat: The Movie

There were some comedic set-ups that maybe could have been funny if done well, but everything about this movie is a failure. Instead of characterizing Pat beyond his/her one-joke premise, the film presents Pat as a disgusting human being interesting only for her/his androgyny, and largely (joke-free!) focuses on Pat's creepy stalker neighbor. Not even worth it for Dave Foley. Also Ween cameos for some reason.
