What are people saying?

  • Nick Schwab's rating of the film Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer

A fun turn by Robert England and a lively final act can't quite make up for Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer's inconsistent tone with an hour buildup that amounts to a simple story and obvious message of Jack conquering his fears-- and temper-- to find his calling in life by film's end. The action is fast, furious and fun, but this is a movie that could have gotten to 'the fun stuff' quicker or needed a stronger story.
