A relatively simple tale about a boy standing up to his bully paired with familiar mischief you'd expect from bored small town children. At times it touches on the tragic or uncomfortable, but ultimately is light and touching. Beautifully shot in a gritty, realist aesthetic. Great editing, great pace, great performances. Overall, a wonderful start to Julius Avery's promising career.
