  1. paul oram's rating of the film Joan

I loved Luc Besson's film, as his 'innocent' Joan archetype is psychologically crossexamined by Dustin Hoffman - effectively the voice of our secular age. I like the way it sinks into farce, as the King takes advantage of her faith to motivate his armies. This 'Bipolar' Joan exists deep in her own reality - was the real Joan equally mentally ill, or is it just to difficult for us to imagine such religious conviction.
