A very long but worth watching film, no doubt. One of my favourites from Bollywood, with two great actors and breath-taking scenarios. Plus, period films will always be a passion of mine, especially from a culture that I sadly don't yet know that much about.
This was the first Bollywood movie I've ever seen and it made me excited to see a lot more. It was a joyous experience. A mixture of genres and cinematic styles from all over the world, embedded in classic Indian film culture. One problem, it took me three days to finish it since it was so long. Finally the emphasis on unity was a bit much.
ok the king's perfect image was a bit unbelieving for me too much for me but omg the love between the king and queen let my fangirl heart beat faster <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 and I really liked the story, what it wanted to tell and the whole film just wow. and it definitely had a better ending than devdas!! (I just can't cope with bad endings..)
