  • Howard Fritzson's rating of the film Joy of Living

Irene Dunne has no sex appeal whatsoever. She is very skilled and versatile and, sometimes, likable, but she does not get under your skin. This is also true of Meryl Streep who is far more proficient. Forgive me. That said, "You Couldn't Be Cuter" transcends it's coyness and she is helped here by Fairbanks' style. She partnered nicely with Cary Grant and Charles Boyer as well.
