Julia Ducournau’s audacious debut short ingeniously uses body horror to peel away layers of adolescent anxieties, revealing a deep empathy for the physical and mental changes endured by teenage girls. Garance Marillier, who would soon triumph in Raw, charms with her spiky yet endearing performance.
