What seems like it would be a run of the mill thriller turns out to be a beautifully shot, skillfully edited, carefully planned neo-noir mystery. There are countless beautiful sequences, a pace that's precise and manic at the same time, and a story that strangely echoes both "While You Were Sleeping" and the more recent "The Square".
I liked: a lot: the execution was absolutely refreshing and the story was quite original. But I could only suspend disbelief so indiscriminately. Jonas' life didn't appear to warrant his seemingly (out of nowhere) desire to carry on with this (beautiful?) damaged femme fatale. I wanted much more of Sebastien. He was magnificent to look at.
There is much more than just another love story there.. The plot is original and the movie is beautifully filmed. One easily recognizes himself with the main character, whose life lacks thrill and passionate love, and who is eager to take the life of somebody else for the woman he loves. A must see if you are into Danish cinema!
