I mean, for what is it, its actually pretty good. Standard storyline here told many times before, Reynolds playing his same basic character, Amy Smart looking pretty and not much else. I would give it three stars but taking off one for the extremely annoying person that is Anna Faris. How she has a career is beyond me. Better Reynolds fair includes Waiting and Adventureland. It's easy to dismiss this movie as simple, basic, whatever. It's an oft-told tale. But the problem with that is that it doesn't recognize the originality in the humor itself. That's where the good stuff is: the musical choices, the jokes, the old-school slapstick. It's a really good movie. You just have to like comedy.
