Given the delays and subsequently unremarkable theatrical release that ensued (another unfortunate L for Bella Thorne in the same month nonetheless), "Keep Watching" is a modestly effective home invasion chiller. Aesthetically pleasant given a lot of constraining videography, Sean Carter is not one to shy away from some intriguing experimentation that pushes the film over the edge into being pleasingly average.
It gives you exactly what it promises you from the beginning: not much. While its premise could've have been a subversion of horror movie fans' twisted curiosity to watch characters being fighting for survival, its bad decisions and poor engagement destroyed it.
Solid premise with minute potential leading to a predictable and underwhelming conclusion. I can appreciate the style that was taken but the story and the pace took too long and made unnecessary detours. Even the cast seemed lackluster.
