  2. FISCHER's rating of the film Keyhole

  6. Tibulle85's rating of the film Keyhole

  10. ADZERTY's rating of the film Keyhole

  11. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film Keyhole

Wasted talent : good cast, filming & acting. MADDIN has style, yes, but the're is no story & so much confusion. Useless gay scenes. Who finances these sub-Lynch productions ??

  12. Ludovic72's rating of the film Keyhole

  13. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Keyhole

The way I approach Maddin films is to not watch them the first time too closely. The first time is just to get an idea of what's going on. The real pleasure comes when you watch it again and see the way it's stiched together in pleasing patterns.

  14. Gyseltrut's rating of the film Keyhole

In a love-hate relationship with this movie. Not having been familiar with Maddin's style and having chosen "Keyhole" to begin with made of me a sojourn in the realm of haziness which, however, is not to be disclosed in order to preserve its gist. Amusing at times to help the movie go down better. More like 2.5 stars.

  15. Carlos Filipe Freitas's rating of the film Keyhole

The searching is endless and the conclusions are few, but the movie sticks into your head for some time. Review and rating: http://alwayswatchgoodmovies.blogspot.com/2012/06/keyhole-2011.html

  17. msmichel's rating of the film Keyhole

A naked man in chains, a drowned girl floating between two worlds, a ganster moll with keith haring influenced lingerie, the black and white film noir/silent cinema homages, the repeated words '...remember, Ulysses, remember...'; we must have entered the world of a Guy Maddin film. A somewhat lesser effort from Maddin not nearly encroaching upon 'My Winnipeg', 'Gimli' or 'Careful'. Never dull excursion into digital.

  18. Monsieur Arkadin's rating of the film Keyhole

This one is puzzling. I want to like it significantly more than I actually like it. Jason Patrick is great, and the best DSLR cinematography I've seen yet. But it just doesn't hit home thematically the way something like "Saddest Music" does.

  19. Scott Barley's rating of the film Keyhole

The film dithers between relying on weak plot and abstraction, which comes off as inane, as neither elements are strong, or benefit from juxtaposing one other. Digital is not a good medium for Maddin; his dreamlike, eccentric cinema suits the otherworldly textures of celluloid. Keyhole is described as a film about a man's personal odyssey. For me, it's an odyssey to nowhere, with very little in between.

  20. Sean's rating of the film Keyhole

Not very good, Guy Maddin's films get lost on me and clearly this is one of them. He tries way to hard to be artistic which comes across as pretentious. I get the story but it just fails to keep me interested. I've always admired Jason Patric as an actor and he does a good job with what he is given.

  21. Fabio Ornelas's rating of the film Keyhole

Stylish and hypnotic experimental film. I wonder what Maddin could do with a decent script on his hands.

  22. Erik Gregersen's rating of the film Keyhole

Maddin has been pushing himself with every film. Here it's a collaboration between Kirsanoff and Ulmer.

  23. Abdul Malik's rating of the film Keyhole

It grows on you. It really grows on you.

  24. Squiffle's rating of the film Keyhole

Another fun nightmare from Guy Maddin. I can't help but feel it a tad slight, but it's incredibly entertaining nonetheless even if it doesn't contain the heftiness of My Winnipeg.
