Watched in a genuine video-rental VHS (with all the trailers beforehand) midnight cult projection in a tiny bar with a crowd laughing and throwing quips at the wall. So the best way, I'd wager. Might not be as much alone and sober. Aside from that, it's what it says on the title. Jolly.
Surprisingly scary clowns, which is only one reason why this didn't turn out to be as zany and campy as I thought. The comedy just wasn't that funny, intentional or not. I absolutely love the idea, though, and the special effects were amazing, so kudos for those.
Well this was a weird movie. It plays like a cheesy '80s teen comedy except with grotesquely horrifying nightmare clowns. These clowns are genuinely scary even though this is more of a comedy than a horror movie. I'm not that big a fan of the comedy-horror genre, so this wasn't really my thing. I would have rather seen these clowns in a 100% horror movie.
