  1. kartina obskura's rating of the film Killing Ground

  2. Ash's rating of the film Killing Ground

A disturbing take on a familiar horror story.

  3. Tiago Gonçalves's rating of the film Killing Ground

The dance between the different timelines is flawless and builds the perfect tone for the plot... but then the whole thing becomes predictable and unoriginal. Exactly like camping in unknown places...

  4. ig_____or's rating of the film Killing Ground

A bit of a snooze. "Eden Lake" did this 100 times better. The two different timelines were a nice idea, but there were no real shocks or surprises.

  5. João R's rating of the film Killing Ground

This has been done before and with greater quality. It's effective in terms of building tension - having a better second half - relying on a nonlinear storyline but it's hollow in the way it treats the killings and its motives.

  6. Matt Richards's rating of the film Killing Ground

It's hard to breathe new life into such well established territory and while the aboriginal massacre overtones of the setting is new and the intertwined narrative reveal showed promise things then ran out of steam. For the second half the film landed firmly in by-the-numbers-escape-or-die-or-get-tortured land. There's a nice character nod to Force Majeure that whether intentional or not adds strength. 2.5 stars

  8. Palmat's rating of the film Killing Ground

A grim and disturbing survival horror yarn from the aussie outback. What the movie lacks in originality it makes up in strong acting, a good score and confident direction. Still I'm left with the feeling that this could have been better and that the script feels a bit underdeveloped.

  9. Nick Schwab's rating of the film Killing Ground

The 2nd half has an uneasiness of a more realistic version of Wolf Creek due to its bleak un-apologeticism, but doesn't quite reach that films intensity or power conceptually. The 1st half builds the two leads well, yet the time convergent storyline is more of a distraction for its inevitable plot twists, and the other family unit isn't as well developed, but it's as manipulatively systematic as it's problematic.
