Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye," despite the vernacular brilliance of Harry Brown’s script, wanders off into a rhythm-breaking subplot involving a thrill-seeking heiress (Helena Carter) infatuated with Cagney’s character. Another pass through the typewriter might have tightened these sequences (or eliminated them altogether), but Douglas’s schedule left no time for such indulgences.
