A story could easily finished in a 100-minute film, now washed down and broken into 3 films. The previous 2 one-hour parts were tolerable, but the third part was even washed down more, making it 83 minutes! The pacing is ANNOYING! Though the animation and visual presentations are still very stunning, they can't do much help here.
For all its brilliant direction and breathtaking animation, Maaya Sakamoto's voice acting as Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade blows everything and anything SHAFT throws at you out of the water – this is her finest hour. But SHAFT can't help themselves and what could've been their finest hour as well is weighed down by an unfortunately devised – albeit one faithful to the novel – sequence with Hanekawa.
